Directors Meeting
April 3,
2000
The monthly meeting of the Avocet Board
of Directors was called to order at 6:00PM on Monday, April 3rd,
2000, at the Avocet Clubhouse with Andrew Goodspeed presiding, Lara
Foreman and Frank Boduch present.
Minutes of the 3/6/2000 Board meeting
were read and accepted on the motion of Lara Foreman. Seconded by Andrew.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Sports Committee
-
Waiting for proposals fore
repairs/modifications: i.e., Tennis Courts, windscreens, basketball
courts, etc. Andrew to
follow-up.
Pool Committee
Finance Committee
Information Committee
Architecture Committee
Kids Club Committee
Security Committee
Landscape Committee

This committee will assist in
monitoring the community to insure homeowners maintain reasonable care
of their yards. A “How
To Maintain…” list of guidelines is under consideration and a
flyer will be designed for circulation within the community.

The Board nominated Greg and Paul
for special recognition of their outstanding efforts to care for the
entrance to the Avocet subdivision.
A $50 gift certificate was recommended, motioned by Lara and
seconded by Andrew.
Social Committee
-
Heather Viera has accepted
responsibility for managing Clubhouse rentals.

The Board has requested that Rules
and Regulations for use of the Clubhouse be drafted.
-
The Summer Splash party is in the
planning stage for May 28th.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
-
Long-term capital budget. Andrew to discuss with Bob
Elliott and move to completion.

Bob Elliott to review and advise on
how to best invest capital reserve funds.

Scott Fisk is handling the
replacement of Plexiglas on the tennis sign-up board.
-
Approved installation of a Coke
machine in the pool area.
-
Satellite TV: Barry Sharp has
someone that can complete the installation of cable wiring.
-
Discussed improvements for
Clubhouse bathrooms, plumbing, lighting, painting, etc. and need for a
licensed contractor.
-
Final warning to be issued to a
home on Avocet Drive that has not been maintaining landscaping; fines
to commence if no response.
NEW BUSINESS
-
McCrea-Stoltz property: Sue Juliano
to follow-up on maintenance of this lot, or otherwise the potential
for donation to the community. Andrew
to also follow-up.

Home with paint color not approved
by Architecture Committee: Make sure that repaint enforcement letter
is noted in Seller’s Disclosure Statement.

Recommendation to repaint fencing
along Clubhouse Drive: Will make part of next community workday. To be handled by the
Landscaping Committee. Lara
to follow-up.

Discussed expansion of associate
membership for persons living outside the Avocet community:
-
Agreed to continue current program
for Tennis team players. Agreed not to extend to use of the pool, which is already too
small for a community the size of Avocet.
The next meeting of the Avocet BOD was
scheduled for Monday, May 1st, 2000, starting at 7:00PM at the
Avocet Clubhouse.
The motion to adjourn this meeting was
made by Andrew and seconded by Lara.
Meeting ended at 7:15PM.
