Board of Directors Meeting

March 6, 2000

The monthly meeting of the Avocet Board of Directors was called to order at 7:00PM on Monday, March 6^th, 2000, at the Avocet Clubhouse with Andrew Goodspeed and Frank Boduch present.  Lara Foreman excused at her request.

Minutes of the 1/03/2000 Board meeting were read and accepted on the motion of Andrew.  Seconded by Frank

Minutes of the 2/3/2000 Board meeting will be read for approval at the meeting schedules for April 3^rd, 2000.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Sports Committee

• No new input

Pool Committee

• Fence repairs are expected to be completed by the end of March at an approximate cost of $1,100.

• Discussed a proposal to place a Coke machine in the pool/clubhouse area.   Provisions relieve the community of any liability.  Pricing options allow for no profit/small profit arrangements.  Decision deferred pending review of the full membership of the BOD.

Architecture Committee

• The Architecture Committee reported the approval of a sunroom addition to a home on Avocet Drive.

Finance Committee

• Brian D'Souza resigned - not enough time to fulfill the responsibilities of the chairperson's role.  Andrew will explore options for finding a qualified replacement.

• Frank Boduch noted that categorical Capital Reserve funds for January were not imputed as actual charges, although monthly budget figures have been established.  Frank will contact Sue Juliano to discuss accounting process and to determine how best to manage the banking of these funds.

Information Committee

• Briefly discussed developing a tutorial to self-detect changes when made to the Avocet HOA website.

• Discussed making the clubhouse rental agreement available on the website.

Kids Club Committee

• The Bike Rodeo was postponed to March 11^th due to a rainout on March 4^th.

Security Committee

• The COPS Program sign has been installed at the entrance to the community.

• Planning a meeting of Block Captains in April.

Social Committee

• Recommended that the Social Committee draft Rules & Regulations for the use of the clubhouse and submit recommendations to the BOD.

• Recommended that the Social Committee recommend to the BOD on how to charge for use of the TV & Satellite service in conjunction with clubhouse rentals.

• Recommended that the clubhouse rental contract be reviewed to insure proper protection to the community for against any liabilities resulting from private clubhouse rentals.

Covenants Committee

• No new input.  Discussed setting deadline for committee recommendations to the BOD.

Landscape Committee

• No new input.

OLD BUSINESS

• Covered in above stated committee reports

NEW BUSINESS

• Approved a request for $25 to be used to fund refreshments at the Kid's Club/Security Committee Bike Rodeo.

• Discussed possible steps which may be appropriate to compel an Avocet Drive homeowner to properly care and maintain the grounds of their property.  Deferred any action until the matter can be addressed by the full Board of Directors.

The next meeting of the Avocet BOD was scheduled for Monday, April 3rd, 2000, starting at 7:00PM at the Avocet clubhouse.

The motion to adjourn this meeting was made by Andrew; seconded by Frank.  Meeting ended at 8:35PM.
