Board of Directors Meeting

October 8, 2000

The monthly meeting of the Avocet Board of Directors was called to order at 4:12 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2000, at the Avocet Clubhouse with Paul Cernich presiding, Andrew Goodspeed and Carrie Meersman present.

Approval of Minutes

There were no minutes to be approved, as this was the first Board meeting of the 2001 officers.

Comments From the Floor

There were no comments from the floor as no one was present.

Activities Completed Since Last Meeting

Several things were completed under the 2000 BOD. They are: 

• Tennis Court Resurfacing
• Acceptance of FY2001 Budget at HOA Meeting
• Planting of Fall annual flowers at entrance
• Town Hall Meeting scheduled to present proposed covenants and by-laws.

Unfinished Business

• The proposed Covenants/Bylaws were discussed specifically to address where the status was and what the next steps were going to be. Covenants Committee will hold a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, October 25 to discuss with homeowners.
• Long Term Capital requirements were discussed.
• The BOD discussed having an information board at the beginning of the commons area, where currently there is an outdated picture of the amenities area. The maintenance of the pool house during off-season months was discussed. Clubhouse coordinator will be contacted to propose cleaning service and costs associated. White picket fence in front of clubhouse/pool house needs repairing. Today American to be contacted to repair. Clubhouse TV cabling was addressed and how that works when someone wants to use it when they rent the clubhouse.
• Lot #218, which occupies the right side of the amenities entrance was discussed as to what action is currently being taken to maintain landscaping. BOD is in contact with the HOA lawyers and McRae & Stolz on where this situation sits.
• Wasps on hill by pool house were addressed. At present action is being taken to combat the problem.

New Business

• The budget for the 2000 Kids Club Halloween party was approved by Paul Cernich, seconded by Andrew Goodspeed.
• The funds to mail the proposed covenants/bylaws were approved by Paul Cernich, seconded by Andrew Goodspeed.
• Repairs on the playground were discussed. Need to assign this area to a committee to handle and bring quotes for repairs.
• Discussed Termite Bond/Pest Control for the outside and inside of the clubhouse/pool house.

The next meeting of the Avocet Board of Directors was scheduled for Monday, November 13, 2000 starting at 7pm in the Avocet Clubhouse.

The motion to adjourn this meeting was made by Paul Cernich, seconded by Carrie Meersman. The meeting ended at 6:35pm.
