Board of Directors Meeting
July 3, 2001
The monthly meeting of the Avocet Board of Directors was called to
order at 7:02 PM on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the Avocet Clubhouse with
Paul Cernich presiding and Carrie Meersman present. Bruce Heyworth from
Today American Management was also present.
Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the June 11, 2001 Avocet Board of Directors meeting were
approved by Paul Cernich, seconded by Carrie Meersman.
Comments From the Floor
No one was present to make comments.
Activities Completed Since Last Meeting
- Repaired broken drainpipe in the pool
- Changed locks for clubhouse and pool room
- Painted face of gazebo facing tennis courts
- Connected satellite TV to clubhouse
- Approved renewal of Avocet website domain name for ten years
Unfinished Business
- Covenants/Bylaws: Waiting to begin next phase for adoption of
proposed covenants/bylaws.
- Long Term Capital requirements were discussed. Including the need
for painting the interior of the clubhouse.
- Lot #218, McRae & Stotlz, Landscape corrective action is to
begin (mowing, seeding, round-up). Bids for hydroseeding are being
investigated and a decision will be made.
- Still need to repair the warped board at the base of the wheel on
the playground equipment.
- The termite bond/pest control service for clubhouse: needs major
improvements first. Once the clubhouse repairs for water damage and
foundation drainage are completed, a termite bond and pest control
service will be investigated.
- Highwoods Property: BOD is looking for a Neighborhood Representative
to be our liaison with the property management company to stay updated
on tree planting, lights and garbage dumping.
- Work to repair the water drainage around the clubhouse is set to
begin the week of July 9.
- Funds were approved to purchase a drop box for ACC requests. Will be
installed by July 9.
- Discussed improvements to the clubhouse; painting interior, interior
lighting, carpeting, tiling, etc.
- Discussed tennis court locks and fencing.
New Business
- A property inspection was done on Friday, June 29. Results of this
inspection were discussed.
- Discussed new residents and their receipt of welcome letters and
information about the community.
- Delinquent homeowner dues were discussed.
- Several pool repairs are needed; ladder and holes in bottom of pool.
- Discussed the 2002 Budget and 2002 annual homeowners meeting.
- Once Clubhouse improvements are complete, it was approved to use
Arrow Exterminators. Approved by Paul Cernich, seconded by Carrie
Meersman.
The next meeting of the Avocet Board of Directors was scheduled for
Monday, August 13, 2001 starting at 7pm in the Avocet Clubhouse.
The motion to adjourn this meeting was made by Carrie Meersman,
seconded by Paul Cernich. The meeting ended at 8:24 pm.
