Avocet BOD Minutes from
May 6, 2002
Meeting was called to order at 7:07pm. Andrew, Lisa, Nick, Bruce, and Sarb
were present. April BOD minutes from the April meeting were approved.
Comments from the floor:
A question about if there is a grace period for new residents regarding the
storage of items in their front yards after moving in. There is no grace
period.
A decision to allow Seiglers to park their van in pool parking lot for a two
week period was made with the understanding that Avocet Association will not be
liable for the safety of the vehicle.
Farine's application for the erection of a fence was received. We are waiting
for a revision from the homeowners.
Because of all the new residents, Wayne Forman will be updating the residents
list available off the web site.
The pool is drained and will be patched where needed. Will be ready for use by
the 15th.
Bruce will be getting quotes on floor covering in the clubhouse kitchen and
bathrooms.
Tennis wind screens were requested. Quotes are needed.
If keys are needed to gain access to the facilities, contact Bruce.
Unfinished Business:
We will be getting doors and locks for the tennis courts soon.
No further discussion of amending the by-laws or covenants.
Radcliffe & Bettez email issue presumed closed.
The association is concerned about the county ordinance violations involving
items being stored on porches and front yards, fence size, and parked cars in
the street.
There was more discussion regarding purchasing a ping-pong table. Nick will get
quotes. There was concern about whether it would be maintained properly.
Committee Reports:
Sports - Bottom rail on fences is completed
Pool - No set date on pool party, but Memorial week-end was the preferred
date.
Finance - Bob Elliott desires to hand off the chair. Bob Seigler may take up
this position.
Architecture - DeeDee Portman was added as new member.
Landscape - Lara Foreman was added as new member thus probably the
chairperson.
Security - No break-ins.
Social - No date set on pool party as of yet.
Avocet Women's Group - DeeDee Portman is interested in creating. This club,
first meeting is June 13 @ 7pm.
New Business:
An informational newsletter will be printed to update residents about current
issues and should be ready in about a week.
Shobi Ghanatra is in charge of the block captains and will be called
regarding the creation of a welcome basket and welcome letter to new residents.
The board will reimburse her.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm. Next meeting will be June 3.
